The clues continue to pile up: Ian may be alive & Melissa may be helping him hide!
The ladies of Pretty Little Liars were forced to endure their therapist-mandated trial separation on the June 21 episode, and one thing became very clear very quickly: Bad things happen when these girls are kept apart! Emily (Shay Mitchell) had her hard-drive erased, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) got bitched out by her sister, Hanna (Ashley Benson) sided with the enemy, and Aria (Lucy Hale) got attacked by a stranger in the night. Safety in numbers, my friends. Safety in numbers.
Meanwhile, a familiar face returned to Rosewood this week — though it wasn’t quite as familiar as I remembered it. Confused? Allow me to explain: Alison’s brother Jason is back in town, only now he’s being played by Drew Van Acker instead of Parker Bagley. But regardless of who’s playing him, Jason remains super shady. Not only is he hot on Ian’s trail, but he also may or may not have a dead body in his garden. Eh, some people plant roses…

Spencer & Toby: Built to fail
While Spencer bickered with Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) and got a glimpse of her first sonogram — honestly, I was disappointed to see it didn’t have horns — the skies weren’t quite as blue for Spencer’s main man, Toby (Keegan Allen.) Desperate to get his GED and get the heck out of his house, Toby took a job with a construction company in Rosewood… only to get fired on his first day!
I guess it sucks to have everyone in town think badly of you, but Toby really needs to look on the bright side here. Sure he got fired, but he also got paid an entire week’s wages for putting in less than one day’s work. Any way you slice it, that sounds like a pretty sweet gig to me.

Aria & Ezra: He says goodbye, she says hello
Is it any wonder “Aria & Ezra” was trending on Twitter long after this week’s episode aired? The couple that everyone’s been rooting for — well, everyone except the school board, the police and, of course, “A” — may have finally found its happy ending after all!
After Ezra (Ian Harding) bid farewell to his English class and walked out the doors of Rosewood High for the last time, viewers were left to assume he and Aria were also dunzo. But at the last minute, a (literal) ray of light shone through the window, leading Aria outside where she found him waiting by his car. This was all leading up to their most epic kiss yet; I’m talking 360 degrees of dramatic music and slow motion here, people.

Hanna & Mona: The back-up BFFs
If I had to say which Liar suffered the worst from this week’s forced separation, it’d definitely be Hanna. How do I know that? Because she actually caved in and hung out with Mona (Janel Parrish)! Yes, that same smelly bitch-face Mona who ripped up Caleb’s (Tyler Blackburn) letter and destroyed what was left of their relationship. As far as I’m concerned, Hanna would be better off hanging out with her other old friend: cupcakes!
